3 Beginner Article Marketing Tips

By | Jun 4, 2010

For someone thinking about getting into the article marketing business, there are a few basic article marketing tips to follow that can make the process much easier to learn. Whether you are trying to find tips on article marketing in order to boost your site’s traffic or just because you are a writer trying to better understand the process, the advice is the same. Understanding the fundamentals is key regardless of what avenue you intend to pursue.

1. Your Website’s Article

The first article for your own site should be well-written and completely original. If you are not a writer, you can easily hire out the work to a professional. It takes a bit of research to find a good writer. Make sure you see some of their past work so that you know they write to the standards you require and get any references they may have. If you are looking for someone to do long term work, you want a solid writer. Expect to pay about a penny per word on average, maybe more if the writer is very good.

It’s also a standard strategy to ping your RSS feed once it’s submitted to all the major directories. While many websites use WordPress which does this automatically, your site may not. For those who have yet to adopt WordPress, it is certainly worth considering. It is quickly becoming a standard among modern sites.

2. Submit a Rewrite to Ezine

Ezine is the most commonly used article directory on the web. They rank extremely high in search engine returns because they have very high standards for their articles. If you can get an article submitted through their site, you can get an article submitted anywhere. These standards mean that many people trust Ezine and are more likely to follow your backlinks.

Ezine offers its own RSS feed just like your site does. This means that when you get an article submission to their site, you can submit your feed to major directories again. In addition to pinging your RSS feed, you can include backlinks in the article which point to your primary domain name and to the original article. This means big potential for traffic from this site.

3. Rewrite the Ezine Article and Resubmit

When an article is accepted to Ezine, it is a good idea to get a rewrite of that article. If you or your writer are familiar with Ezine’s submission policies then you can typically do a rewrite of the article immediately alongside the original to save some time. This rewrite can be submitted to any number of article directories. A quick search can turn up more than a dozen. Some may be tagged as no follow directories which means you won’t be able to backlink like you can with Ezine, but they are still worth submitting to as they get a fair amount of traffic. If the directory does allow you to backlink, all the better.

You can continue to rewrite your article and continue to resubmit it, but after a certain point the money spent rewriting the article and resubmitting can outweigh the potential benefits. It’s still a good idea to consider one more submission. Sure, it can take a little more time and money, but rewrites tend to come cheaper than original articles so it may be worth your while. If you follow these simple article marketing tips in website flipping, even beginning article marketers can increase visibility for a domain.
